Meet Mr. Boedecker

George B. Boedecker Jr. is an entrepreneur and humanitarian as well as the principal founder and creative force behind Crocs, Inc., where he served on the board of directors and their Executive Chief Officer from July 2002 through December 2004.

During his tenure, Crocs grew from an 8-person start-up, into an industry giant. Once deemed the fastest growing footwear company on the planet, Mr. Boedecker’s successes at Crocs culminated with the largest IPO in the history of the shoe industry.  He continues to be involved with the shoe company by developing Latin American markets and airport kiosk locations worldwide.

Paving the way for his successes at Crocs, Mr. Boedecker served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of International Sales and Operations for the Quiznos Corporation in Canada. He is also a founder and managing member of Oregon Food Concepts LLC, a franchise sales and support company that owns and manages Quizno franchise locations in Oregon and Washington. Prior to Quiznos, Mr. Boedecker was active with the Domino’s Pizza Corporation, and was responsible for building and operating over 100 Domino’s Pizza outlets in multiple states. In addition to Crocs, Boedecker has founded several other profitable businesses including Boulder, Colorado-based Crocodile Distribution and Crocodile Kiosk.

Aside from his numerous business success stories, Mr. Boedecker takes great pride in his extensive philanthropic accomplishments, including the 2006 creation of the Anthony H. Kruse Foundation through an endowment left to him by his good friend and business partner Anthony H. Kruse.  In 2009, Mr. Boedecker consolidated all of his charitable endeavors into one entity that is referred to as The Boedecker Foundation.   By doing so, Mr. Boedecker was able to devote all his resources to further the Foundation’s mission and vision.  The  Boedecker Foundation, a Boulder, Colorado-based private, non-operating Foundation has a reach that extends globally, with a mission that provides critical resources to nonprofit organizations that inspire positive change within diverse communities around the world.

Through his various philanthropic enterprises Mr. Boedecker has impacted the lives of thousands of children, their families and communities. During his efforts, over 50 nonprofit organizations have received funding in support of their essential missions.

Mr. Boedecker’s personal wealth, which was derived from the formation and sale of Crocs, Inc., and coupled with an estate left to him for philanthropic purposes, has allowed him to create a powerful outlet in order to make a difference in people’s lives.

Impact

The Boedecker Foundation Initiatives are focused on providing educational opportunities for youth, families and their communities. Education is fundamental to personal and societal development, which provides life skills for tomorrow’s success. In today’s global environment, it is essential for individuals to have access to educational resources that can fully empower them to positively IMPACT the world around them. The Foundation supports organizations that provide instructional and educational opportunities for vulnerable youth, resources for underserved communities, after school programs and platforms for adults seeking higher edification.

Improve

At the core of the Boedecker Foundation endowments are partnerships with organizations that IMPROVE environmental circumstances, provide access to healthcare programs, and create opportunities for children, families and communities they serve. By improving essential services, organizations are empowering communities and developing sustainable programs that enable people to have the support required in order to reach their highest potential. The Boedecker Foundation has supported multiple organizations and improved opportunities for thousands of young people and  their families around the world.

Inspire

The Boedecker Foundation has collaborated with a diverse group of organizations whose efforts are focused on improving the health and wellness of countless individuals. Health and wellness encompasses a wide range of fundamental components that support, INSPIRE and strengthen life’s basic necessities. In communities around the world, access to healthcare, clean water and nourishing food can be limited. The Foundation works closely with organizations providing vital services through school and community-based wellness programs, clean water projects, feeding programs and access to medical care, HIV/AIDS educational programs, medical research and online community networks.
