Family and Friends of the Anthony H. Kruse Foundation help open the doors to the Foundation's Corporate Office | June 2008

George B. Boedecker Jr.'s vision of having a Foundation in his home town of Boulder, Colorado is now a reality.

Family and friends of the Anthony H. Kruse Foundation were on hand to help Mr. Boedecker open the doors to Foundation's headquarters in historic downtown Boulder. The Anthony H. Kruse Foundation is a private, non-operating foundation with a broad charter to assist in empowering youth to transform themselves and their community. The Foundation provides funding and support to nonprofit organizations that provide critical youth development skills training in the areas of education, health and wellness, and family and community development.

The Foundation was established in 2006 by entrepreneur and philanthropist George Boedecker, Jr. and funded through an endowment from his friend and business partner, Anthony H. Kruse. One of the largest private foundations in Boulder County, it seemed only fitting for the Foundation to have a home in downtown Boulder.

The private affair included family, long time friends, and business colleagues of Mr. Boedecker, and set the stage for a more public Grand Opening scheduled for the fall of 2008.

When Anthony Kruse died in July of 2006, he left part of his estate to charity. George Boedecker, Jr., acting as executive trustee of Anthony's estate, established the Anthony H. Kruse Foundation to serve as a culmination of Anthony’s lifetime of giving and be the cornerstone of his lasting legacy.

The Foundation's office has now placed its cornerstone and prepares to greet the Civic leaders of the Boulder community later on this year.
