The University of Colorado Foundation was created in 1967 as a privately governed, non-profit corporation whose mission is to support the University of Colorado. The CU Foundation, the largest foundation in the Rocky Mountain West dedicated exclusively to higher education, functions as the University's philanthropic partner.

The University of Colorado Foundation seeks to enhance and perpetuate a culture of excellence in education at CU by raising private support outside the realm of state funding and to support the University's strategic initiatives. The University of Colorado Foundation also manages investments on behalf of the University, including endowment funds and charitable trusts; and the Foundation is responsible for maintaining the alumni/donor database.
The Boedecker Foundation supports the Parkinson's disease Research of Drs. Olga Klepitskaya, Benzi Kluger and Maureen Leehey at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Center ("Beneficiary"). This grant is made in honor of Julie Berardi.
