Colorado UpLift is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a mission of building long-term, life-changing relationships with urban youth. Colorado UpLift has become a successful solution to the prevalent violence and hopelessness found in the inner city due to five unique program elements: Full-time, primarily-ethnic staff (currently 34 employees); Long term impact, reaching students continuously from 4th grade through young adulthood; Year-round programming, not limited to the school year; High school students serving as leaders and teachers for younger elementary students in the program; Five program areas including both in-school and after-school programming: (1) In School, (2) After School, (3) Adventure,(4) College, and (5) Life Options.
In particular, the In School curriculum focuses on seven character qualities (vision, courage, respect, caring, responsibility, positive work ethic and integrity) and six life skills (career-mindedness, communication, leadership, problem-solving, decision-making and goal-setting).
The Boedecker Foundation supports the mission of Colorado Uplift to build long-term, life-changing relationships with urban youth.
